The Self-Sustainable Beach House
Half a block to the beach. Off the grid when it counts.

About the home
Half a block from the beach access, this family beach home was built to stand on its own. A solar roof and whole-home batteries power the house through the island's outages, and high-efficiency equipment runs throughout. EV charging is free, and the exterior is monitored by security cameras.
Outside, a heated saltwater pool with a waterfall sits beside a covered pergola and a handcrafted outdoor kitchen with gas and charcoal grills, a pizza oven and a bar.
The house has two levels, each with its own kitchen and living space. The first floor has the main kitchen, a breakfast bar, bar seating and three bedrooms. Upstairs, under wood-beamed ceilings, a second living room, kitchen and dining table for eight to ten open onto a covered balcony. The whole house has 7 bedrooms and 5 baths and sleeps 16.
The first floor can also be booked on its own (3 bedrooms, 3 baths, sleeps 8), with sole use of the pool and backyard. A grocery store is two houses away, and rocket launches are often visible from the island.
